Rising Tide Financial’s Day of Volunteering at Our Village

At Rising Tide, we’ve always believed in the importance of giving back to the community. Since our inception, we’ve consistently prioritised community involvement, whether through donations or dedicating our time. This week, our team had the pleasure of volunteering at Our Village—formerly known as St Kilda Mums. This incredible organization is committed to supporting Victorian babies and children up to the age of six while also making significant strides in reducing landfill waste.

Our Village has an exceptional mission: to provide essential resources to every child in need across Victoria. Their efforts help families and promote sustainability by repurposing and recycling goods that would otherwise contribute to landfill waste. Many of our team members and clients have young children, so we feel a deep connection to the work Our Village does. We’re grateful for the opportunity to play a small part in their comprehensive, impactful ecosystem.

Our Day of Volunteering

During our day at Our Village, we engaged in various activities aimed at supporting their mission. One of our main tasks was cleaning and repairing “freedom machines,” also known as prams. Ensuring these prams are in excellent condition allows Our Village to provide them to families in need, promoting mobility and convenience for parents and caregivers.

In addition to pram maintenance, our team helped sort and tidy the warehouse. This critical task ensures that donations are organised and easily accessible, allowing Our Village to efficiently distribute resources to those who need them most. The experience was rewarding and enlightening, reinforcing our commitment to community service.
