After an end to 2021 that most of the Rising Tide team were happy to move on from, we finally got the opportunity to catch up as a team recently and celebrate our belated Christmas party.

It was a jam-packed agenda, including a pre-recorded Tik Tok inspired dance competition between business units, a farewell to our accounting team and most importantly our ‘RT Crew member of the year’ award.

Personally, I would like to take the opportunity to say thanks to the team for all their hard work in making this event a success. A special shout-out goes to Sam G, our two MC’s (Resty & Jay), and Kate for making sure the night ran smoothly on the tech front.

Now, onto the award. Each quarter, the Directors of the business vote how each of our crew members are performing against our trademark behaviors, namely:

• Enjoy the ride
• Deliver on your promise
• Care and empathy
• Have the right conversation
• Take responsibility

Simply put, those with the highest score at the end of the year will be standing on the dais. Our team has more than doubled over the past few years, which has lead to even more competition and the bar has been undoubtedly lifted over the years – and 2021 was no different. The race was close, but, in the end the results fell this way.

1st place – Sam Jewell (Senior Financial Planner and Partner)

Sam had a bumper year in 2021, building on the hard work of his past seven years at Rising Tide. There isn’t one person who deals with Sam that would say he’s ever missed an email or a call – he is uber consistent and always takes responsibility and pride in his work. Sam’s commitment to having a more settled life outside of work has played a big part in his growth – and we are certainly thankful for Tamara’s influence!

2nd place – Kate (Lending Delivery Team Leader)

Reigning ‘RT Crew Member of the Year’ Kate joined us in 2019 and has taken like a duck to water in the pressure cooker world of loans and settlements. Kate is often seen working late into the night, making sure we can deliver on our promise to clients who have loans waiting for settlement. On top of her consistent work rate, Kate has added training new staff to her bow.

3rd place – Resty (Financial Planning Delivery Team Leader)

Resty ticked over two years with Rising Tide in 2021, and has stepped up again in the last twelve months – taking on a couple of major roles at Rising Tide, including running our annual agreements division.

Resty is consistent, curious and is confident having the right conversation.

Once again, congratulations to all our worthy winners and finally I would like to say a big thank you to all our clients for always being so supportive – without you, Rising Tide is nothing.
