Before Rising Tide, we’d hit the realisation that we were probably never going to be in a better financial position than we are now, and we weren’t doing anything to make our money work for us.

We knew there were smarter things we could be doing, but we didn’t have the knowledge or the interest to figure it out on our own. We’d had one consultation years ago with a so called financial adviser through a bank, and it felt more like a sales pitch than advice. There was also the fear of the unknown — how would this work, would we lose control of our money?

Working with Sam and the team changed all of that. It changed our understanding of what good financial advice actually is, and put us at ease. We went from ‘we can’t afford this’ to ‘we can’t afford NOT to have this.’

The turning point was when Sam told us we could have our house paid off in 10 to 12 years, and that it wasn’t just about throwing more money at the home loan. It opened our eyes to what was possible, and made us realise how much we didn’t want to figure it all out alone. Now we have peace of mind that our money is working for us, a real plan for the future, and trusted people we can talk to when we need them.
